Our Brewery
BREWED DOWNSTAIRS SINCE 1992
Every house beer we pour is made right here on High Street.

MEET ANGELO AND OUR BEER
Since 1992, we've brewed more than 2,000 batches in the same basement brewhouse at 467 N. High Street, from the Pilsner and Pale Ale we opened with to hazy IPAs and barrel-aged stouts.
Angelo Signorino has been brewing at Barley's since the beginning. He started out in a windowless basement, learning to brew all-grain beer from scratch, and he's been at the kettle ever since. If you've had a Barley's beer in the last 30 years, Angelo probably had a hand in it.
We lean on British brewing tradition. Our house ale yeast gives every beer its signature character, and the British Pale Ale malt we've used since our first batch is why our Pale Ale isn't very pale.
Beers with a story:
• Pale Ale: The first beer we ever brewed, in 1992, and still a flagship.
• Scottish Ale: On tap since 1993. Beer writer Michael Jackson wrote about it. Not sure what to order? Start here.
• Haze Odyssey IPA: Batch #2,001, our first hazy IPA, brewed in 2018.
• Blood Thirst Wheat: A 2010 Homebrew Competition winner with Sicilian blood orange that became a regular.
• Blackout Imperial Stout: Pat Woodward's recipe, our latest Homebrew Competition winner.
• Christmas Ale: A holiday tradition since 1993.
Since 1997, our Homebrew Competition has put Central Ohio home brewers' recipes on our taps. Can't decide? Build a flight of three or six 5 oz pours.
