Barley's Beer Descriptions

Bee's Wing Honey Wheat Ale

Style Guidelines: The addition of honey, more malt and more wheat to a traditional American Wheat Ale replicates a meal of biscuits and honey.

Rotation Schedule: once a year at our downtown location, at the beginning of summer.

Food Pairings: It's a great thirst quencher all by itself, or pair it with pasta, lightly spiced vegetarian dishes, salads and light chicken dishes. Try while enjoying in-the-shell peanuts.

" The name Bee's Wing actually isn't a reference to the navigational part of the arthropod, but to a song by Richard Thompson. Here's the chorus:

She was a rare thing
Fine as a beeswing
So fine a breath of wind might blow her away
She was a lost child
She was running wild, she said
As long as there's no price on love, I'll stay
And you wouldn't want me any other way

Think of your significant other the next time you quaff
this entirely refreshing brew."
