BARLEY'S AFTERNOON WITH THE BREWERS

Another successful Afternooon with the Brewers, as we do our 14th annual. The winner of this year's Homebrew Competition was Andrew Shultz, with his delightful Witbier. Lloyd Cicetti's Blood Thirst Wheat, last year's winner, was a big hit. It's no wonder... a tart, refreshing ale that's perfect for summer.

NOTE THAT BARLEY'S BLOOD THIRST WHEAT IS ALL GONE NOW, BUT WE'VE BREWED A NEW BATCH THAT WILL BE READY IN AUGUST! Continued below...

STUDIO 35 BEER TASTING A BLAST

Several hundred of you joined us at Studio 35 for a Barley's Beer Tasting, floowed by a screening of Monty Phyton & the Holy Grail this past Sunday. In addition to nine other great ales, you partook in a rare Sunday firkin. This time it was J Scott Francis ESB matured in port wood.

We've got a few photos from the event on our Facebook page. (Not a fan yet? Sign up. It's easy and you can follow us, post comments and even your own photos.) See the photos here.

They're just $16.95 or mix and match them two for $30. Perfect for your weekend at Comfest, don't you think?

OHIO BREW WEEK

It was a great week in Athens for Ohio Brew Week. The festivities concluded at Boogie on the Bricks, with plenty of beer flowing, many vendors and live entertainment. We even saw some of you there. Just a few pix so you know we were there.

All dressed up for craft beer. Beer was flowing at all the taverns as well.

An alley view of the crowd numbering in the thousands; we're in Athens, Ohio, after all!

The fourth annual Ohio Brew Week is now history. We wonder what surprises are in store for the fifth annual next summer.

BARLEY'S 14TH ANNUAL HOMEBREWER'S COMPETITION
and AFTERNOON WITH THE BREWERS

A good sized crowd came to celebrate the Columbus craft beer scene, try the first of last year's homebrew winning batch and to find out who was proclaimed to be the best homebrew this year.

Eric Bean, Columbus Brewing Company; Vic Shiltz, Elevator Brewing Company; Chris Altmont, Gordon Biersch; Victor Ecoimovich III, Hoster Brewing Company; and Jay Wince, Weasel Boy Brewing Company joined Scott Francis and Angelo Signorino from Barley's as every craft brewer from town was on hand for our 14th annual.

They all brought a keg of their wares to try, and they're all on tap now for what we call Columbus Brew Week at Barley's. Find out what they brought by clicking on our "What's On Tap?" button.

Matt Boehm premiered his Black Bike Bier, a schawrzbier that is remenicient of a porter or stout, but crisper, as a lager should be. Tasty. Lloyd Cicettit was this year's winner out of 55 entries. ou'll have to wait until next year's Afternoon to try his Hefeweizen with Blood Orange, a wonderful concoction.

Thanks to all the brewers and to all of you for making this year a memorable beer fest.

Judging this year's homebrews, just prior to Afternoon with the Brewers; Angelo Signorino, Head Brwer at Barley's joins Matt Boehm for a toast.

A happy Matt Boehm relaxes with his winning Balck Bike Bier; Lloyd Cicetti shows of his certificate memorializing his winning entry.

It looks like someone can't hold their beer; Another great event celebrating the best that craft beer has to offer.

We don't stop there. On some days, we have certain Barley's ales discounted for the entire day, going into late night. Every day, we've got some awesome food features at very friendly prices. Read all the details here. We doubt you'll want to be away from Barley's for even a day now!

BARLEY'S UNDERGROUND FOR YOUR PRIVATE AFFAIR

Did you know that we've got a unique multipurpose space right next to our cellar brewery? We call it Barley's Underground, and it's available for family and friend get-togethers, business meetings and anything else you can think of.

We've got an updated banquet package that you can look at on line. Just follow this link...

TOP TEN BEER COMMERCIALS

While we know you love Barley's ales, we don't do commercials. We leave that to the big boys. A website called CamelTap has compiled the top ten. As you quaff a pint of ours from your growler at home, enjoy a few commercials from them. Cheers!

That's it until next week. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, write to me.

Cheers!
